The Missing Act - Seeing From Different Angles
For this one whole month, right after attending Jay Abraham’s seminar, I have been busy reviewing on my current projects, systems and stuff. That kept me busy, looking in and looking out of the limited view that I used to have.
And I happened to drop by a site and saw this optical illustration image. Take a good look at it, and think about what do you see from the image:
Optical Illusions! What exactly can you see from it?
And it kept me wondering, have we been limiting our sights and views to seeing only things that our eyes can see from, right away?
It is so much like what the image has brought a hint to me, I am able to spot the animals from the image right away, because it is easy to spot when I tend to let my mind flow freely and figure out what is installed, without limiting my belief or expectation.
Think about this, how many times have you been to an event, a concert, a seminar, or read book, only to find that it is very much not up to your expectation for the amount that you have paid for? You expect and believe that it should be of a certain standard, but it is just not up to the mark.
I believed that there have been many times, we have been limiting ourselves to what we can see, with our naked eyes and blinded by the belief and expectation that we have within our inner self. And thereby, we tend to see things one-sided.
When I signed up Jay’s seminar, I have an expectation for the amount that I paid for, and anyone who have ever attend Jay Abraham’s event knows that his events are never cheap. And thereby, without knowingly I filled up my mind with the fact that it just have to give me as much information, as much knowledge as possible.
But during the day, I realized that this is not perfectly true. Jay had a lot to share, but given the limited time, it was simply just not enough. Casting aside my belief and expectation, I have a choice to make:
Am I to expect more and more knowledge from him, or Am I to let my mind flow freely?
And I decided to opt for the latter choice. Simply because, regardless of whatever he would be talking about, regardless should I be taking down tons and tons of notes; I came to realize that just ONE idea from the 3 days event, will be good enough to make more than what I am currently making.
Likewise, knowledge and business strategy work the same way. There is never a limitation to them, it is only the way that we see ourselves, and the way that we see things, limited our views and insights.
Hence, given a choice, would you be limiting your expectation or would you let your mind have the freedom to flow and churn out creative juices?

Hi Joyce
Interesting blog.
You are right to look for success wherever you find it and that might be one big idea or a host of small incremental changes.
While I am a massive fan of Jay Abraham I have never been to one of his seminars.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for dropping by.
Yup, there is this saying that whenever a student is prepared to learn, a teacher will turn up unknowingly. Hence, we are able to get inspired from anywhere anytime.
Jay Abraham’s ideas are not profound; they are simple enough for anyone to understand. However, it is the fact that these simple ideas are something that most tend to overlook.
I remember someone ever said that even without going to Jay’s seminars, one will tend to learn something even from his newsletter and stuff. But going to his seminars are simply making the learning curve much easier and digestive, because you tend to recall what he has got to say.
