If you tend to fall into any of the above question(s), it is glad that you realized something about your current situation. Now, the next question is, would you want to make a change?

A lot people are looking for the simple rules of curing procrastination. Now, if you have decided that you want to stop procrastination from getting into your way, into your life, then this is the procrastinator’s antidote that I prescribed for you.

No injection, no medication, what is required is your devotion and your determination. It is based on a 80/20 rule, commit yourself to this 20% of hard and tough job, and enjoy the 80% of the result.

This is what I have come through as a used-to-be procrastinator. And if you are serious about curing your procrastination, then do the following step by step process.

It works for me, and up till this date, I am still using this method.

And here’s the list:

  1. Start to gather all your thoughts, ideas, and plans, etc.
  2. Write them down on a sheet of paper. (regardless of the numbering order)
Just make sure it is down on paper.
  3. Start to organize the clutter thoughts by numbering the brief.
  4. Branch out the brief with the details.
  5. Sort out the exact and precise task you need to go about doing.
  6. Categorize the list, look for the things that you have to do it yourself. Look for the things that you can delegate to others, Look for the things that you can outsource, etc.
  7. Set a time frame to all the task.
  8. Start to make plans on your calendar, based on the time frame.
  9. This is the most essential point of all, Take ACTION.
  10. Do evaluation every now and then to keep your calendar and time frame updated.

My prescription is as simple as that, this ten simple steps are going to make a great difference in you, in your lifestyle, in whatever you want to do, as long as you consistently use this 10 steps to help stop procrastination.

    Hi Joyce

    This is good advice.

We have just covered procrastination on my Certified Guerrilla Marketing Coaching Course and is particularly relevant to one of my clients.

Because I have a natural bias to action, I have found it difficult to get this person back on the straight and narrow. After doing lots of work of time management, goal setting and prioritisation I thought that I’d got it cracked only for the client to slip backwards.

If you haven’t taken a look at the Guerrilla Marketing Course I can recommend it very strongly and I am doing a week by week review on my blog.

    Thanks Paul.

    Procrastination always hinders progression.

Thanks for the recommendation. The Guerrilla Marketing Course seems to be pretty interesting. They are not only covering the marketing portion, but stretching across the horizon to different areas inside out.

And I happened to see that you have signed up for Rich Schefren’s program as well. :)
